About

A land that has passed through generations

The family origin of the property in Rossas, Vieira do Minho.

The land in Rossas came through family inheritance, bringing together two parcels with distinct documentary histories: the 1869 tax matrix, passed down across several generations, and a more recent topographic survey that confirmed the property's current boundaries.

Over time, responsibility for the land passed from generation to generation — from those who worked and maintained it, to those who today are organising its regularisation and future use. Out of discretion towards the family, this site does not name each generation individually; it speaks to the role each one played, not to who they were.

Today, the point of contact for anyone who wants to learn more about the land — its history, the ongoing regularisation process, or the two possible paths for its use — is Jon Toscano.

The tone that guides this site is the same that guides the stewardship of the land: sober, honest about what is still to be confirmed, and free of promises the land itself cannot yet keep.
